Louisville Institute of Orthopaedics is excited to announce that Reid B. Brown, M.D., has joined our orthopaedic surgery team, specializing in total joint replacement, hip and knee reconstruction, and complex revision surgery. Dr. Brown is now seeing patients at our Louisville office.
Dr. Brown earned his medical degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine and completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Cincinnati. He went on to complete a joint reconstruction fellowship at the University of Western Ontario in London, Canada, where he trained in advanced techniques for complex hip and knee replacement procedures.
To date, Dr. Brown has performed over 15,000 hip and knee replacement procedures. He was also recognized as the first surgeon in Kentucky to perform the hip resurfacing procedure, a bone-preserving alternative to hip replacement used in younger, more active individuals.
When he’s not treating patients or training the next generation of orthopaedic surgeons, Dr. Brown’s free time is dedicated to his wife and sons and to enjoying outdoor activities like hiking, skiing, and golfing.
