You’ve known us as the Louisville Hip and Knee Institute, a practice dedicated to providing the region’s most advanced care for hip and knee conditions. Today, we are thrilled to begin a new chapter as the Louisville Institute of Orthopaedics.
This change isn’t just about a new name. It’s about a new promise: to apply the same pioneering, patient-first philosophy that rebuilt thousands of hips and knees to a full range of orthopaedic specialties. Our co-founders, Dr. Joseph W. Greene and Dr. Jonathan G. Yerasimides, started this practice to focus on your full continuum of care, and this evolution is the next logical step.
We know that change can bring questions, so we’ve created this hub to answer everything you need to know about our new name and expanded mission.
Get Answers from the Louisville Institute of Orthopaedics
1. Why did you change your name?
We changed our name to better reflect what we do. While we remain world-class experts in hip and knee replacement, our team has grown, and so has our ability to treat other parts of the body. The “Louisville Institute of Orthopaedics” name accurately represents our ability to apply our mission—helping you regain mobility and improve your quality of life—to a complete range of orthopaedic needs.
2. Are you still specialists in hip and knee replacement?
Absolutely. Dr. Greene and Dr. Yerasimides will continue to provide the same nationally recognized expertise in partial/total knee replacement and anterior hip replacement that our practice was built on. This expansion simply means that our other orthopaedic specialists meet the same high standards of care.
3. Are Dr. Greene and Dr. Yerasimides still with the practice?
Yes! Dr. Greene and Dr. Yerasimides are the co-founders and leaders of the Louisville Institute of Orthopaedics. We are expanding with carefully selected specialists to offer expert surgical care for the shoulder.
4. How does this affect me as a current patient?
It doesn’t. Your plan of care, your medical records, and your relationship with your provider remain exactly the same. The only change you will notice is our new name and logo on patient portal messages, office signs, and billing statements.
5. Do I need to do anything with my upcoming appointments or medical records?
No. All scheduled appointments are unchanged. All medical records are secure and have been seamlessly transitioned under our new name. There is no action required from you.
6. Is your location or phone number changing?
No. You can still find us at the same convenient location and reach us using the same phone number. Here is our contact information and directions.
7. Who can I contact if I have more questions?
We are here for you. If you have any other questions at all, please do not hesitate to call our office at 502-HIP-KNEE (447-5633) or contact us online.
We are deeply grateful for the trust you have placed in us as the Louisville Institute of Orthopaedics. As we step forward as the Louisville Institute of Orthopaedics, we renew our commitment to serving you and the entire community with the most advanced, compassionate, and comprehensive orthopaedic care available.
We look forward to helping you and your loved ones get back to what you love.
